Alternatively, you can effortlessly import residents using a CSV file.

You can import residents to TenantPay if you already have the following information about them:

- First Name
- Last Name
- Unit Number
- Property ID
- Email - We truly recommend adding their email so you can take advantage of the Notices feature that TenantPay also have
- Other - Is a reference field that can be left blank or used for your lease number or accounting residency code that is required if you are importing payment data into your accounting system

Note 1: You can only use the import feature if you added buildings to your TenantPay portal. You should use the same Property ID as in your accounting system if you use one. If you don't use an accounting system, you can choose a Property ID that you prefer when adding buildings so you can use this information to import residents.

Note 2: The import residents feature will import residents and units, so manually creating all units for each building is unnecessary.

To use the import residents feature, you must follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the "Residents" tab from the left-side menu.

            2. Click on the "Import" button from the right side.

3 - Click on Download Template to download the UploadPayers template file.

4 - Open the UploadPayers template file and add all needed information in the following columns:

Note: Please do not erase any column because this will prevent the import process from working.

5 - Save the file with CSV format

6 - Return to your TenantPay portal, Residents > Import > Choose the bank account where you will receive payments for these residents > Click Upload and choose the CSV document to import.

7 - The time it takes to import depends on the number of residents you will import. Once this process is finished, you can click on the Residents tab and search for the newly imported residents.

8 - The TenantPay numbers will be automatically generated for all new imported residents.

You can then share this information with your tenants via email, text message, or by printing and sending it as a letter.
